I thought it would be a good idea to take a look back at 2013 to provide a bit of a summary of the 4th Metric Music Hustle thus far. I’m not one for “New Year’s Resolutions”; however, I do like to think of themes to take with me throughout the year. As my friend and fellow entrepreneur Marcus can attest, last year’s theme was “Launch ErryTING” which, Caribbean-ly speaking (yes, that’s a word), means to Launch Everything. So let’s review.
At the beginning of 2013, I was working 2 jobs and barely staying afloat in the vast ocean of my commitments. Slowly but surely, I was able to refocus and align with my passion: music. After filing the necessary paper work, and with the help of some amazing people like my sister Robin, Ayesha, Tamisha and Sonia, I was able to launch 4th Metric Music.
In the few months since then, I’ve played at a number of gigs in Toronto, including one at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre for almost 2500 people. I’m truly humbled by having this fantastic opportunity to do what I love. The year 2013 was mainly about building the pipeline. As for 2014, my plan is to turn the water on.
The upcoming year is going to be fun! There will be amazing events, with details I can’t snitch about just yet, but…trust me. Also, the 4th Metric Music YouTube Channel will be started, SoundCloud will be developed along side Google +, so there will be many ways to get engaged with what’s going on.
It’s going to be an absolutely exciting year and I want to thank everyone who continues to show support for my vision. Thank you for every ‘like’, ‘share’, ‘retweet’ and for all the constructive advice. I look forward to growth in musicianship, depth of groovitude (another word), and as always, keeping The Heart of Music in Every Beat.
Thanks for reading.
